A lightweight peptide treatment for skin beginning to show fine lines, loss of bounce, uneven texture or reduced firmness.
PURCELL 82% High Dose™ Peptide Formula is built around the brand's patented Peptide 82% Formula™, featuring a high concentration of Saccharomyces/Hexapeptide-11 Ferment Filtrate alongside Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, hydrolysed collagen, adenosine and hydrating ingredients.
Rather than relying on one aggressive active, this is a treatment designed around supporting firmer, smoother and more resilient-looking skin over time.
Its very light, watery texture also makes it unusually easy to layer. That is particularly useful if you want to add peptides to an existing routine without introducing another rich cream or potentially irritating exfoliating treatment.
This is the type of product we would reach for when skin doesn't necessarily feel damaged or dehydrated, but simply isn't looking as firm, smooth or bouncy as it once did.
Especially suited to
• Fine lines and early visible signs of ageing
• Loss of firmness or elasticity
• Skin lacking bounce
• Uneven or rough-looking texture
• Dehydrated skin that looks less plump
• Anyone wanting an anti-ageing treatment without using another strong exfoliating active
Why you'll love it
• Built around PURCELL's patented Peptide 82% Formula™
• Contains Hexapeptide-11 ferment alongside Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5
• Helps support smoother, firmer and more elastic-looking skin
• Hydrolysed collagen and humectants help skin feel hydrated and plumper
• Lightweight watery texture layers easily with the rest of your routine
• Suitable for both morning and evening routines
Texture
A very lightweight, watery serum that absorbs quickly without leaving a heavy or greasy finish.
It is especially easy to layer underneath moisturiser, SPF or richer anti-ageing products.
Good to know
The “82%” in the name does not mean that 82% of the bottle is pure peptide.
It refers to PURCELL's high-concentration Peptide 82% Formula™, which is based around Saccharomyces/Hexapeptide-11 Ferment Filtrate and forms the main base of the product.
That distinction matters because skincare percentages are not always directly comparable.
An “82% peptide formula” cannot be compared in strength with something like 0.1% retinal or 10% niacinamide. They are completely different types of ingredients and formulations.
This is also a very different kind of anti-ageing product from retinal.
Retinoids actively influence skin-cell turnover and have a much larger body of evidence behind them for visible ageing. Peptides are better thought of as a supportive option within a well-rounded routine — particularly if you want something gentle that focuses on firmness, hydration and smoother-looking skin.
And although the formula contains hydrolysed collagen, topical collagen does not simply travel into the skin and replace lost collagen.
Its more immediate contribution is hydration and helping the surface of the skin look and feel plumper.
Use after cleansing and toner.
Apply a few drops evenly across the face and gently pat until absorbed.
Follow with your other serum if needed, then moisturiser.
In the morning, finish with SPF.
You can use it once or twice daily depending on the rest of your routine.
Tips to get the most out of it
• Peptides work best as part of a consistent routine rather than as an occasional treatment
• You do not need to wait between this serum and your moisturiser — once it has absorbed comfortably, continue with your routine
• If you already use retinal or retinol, you do not necessarily need to choose between them. This peptide serum can sit in the supportive part of the routine while your retinoid remains the main targeted anti-ageing treatment
• If your routine already contains several peptide serums, you probably don't need to stack them all. Choose the formula and texture you enjoy using consistently
• Dry skin can layer a richer moisturiser over it; oily skin can keep the rest of the routine lighter
• Morning use makes sense if your evening routine already contains stronger actives and you want to spread your treatments across the day
• Do not judge peptides after a few applications. Hydration and surface plumpness may appear sooner, but changes in firmness and fine lines require consistent use over time
What does the 82% actually mean?
It refers to PURCELL's patented Peptide 82% Formula™, which makes up the majority of the product and is based around Saccharomyces/Hexapeptide-11 Ferment Filtrate.
It should not be interpreted as 82% pure Hexapeptide-11.
That is an important distinction when comparing this serum with other peptide products.
-
What is Hexapeptide-11?
Hexapeptide-11 is a short peptide used in skincare products aimed at improving the appearance of ageing skin.
In this formula it is used within a yeast-fermented ingredient system rather than simply being added as isolated peptide powder.
-
What does Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 do?
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 is another signalling peptide commonly used in products designed to support smoother and firmer-looking skin.
Here it complements the Hexapeptide-11 ferment rather than being the main base of the formula.
-
Does the collagen in this serum replace collagen in my skin?
No.
Hydrolysed collagen used topically can help bind moisture and create a smoother, plumper-looking surface, but it should not be thought of as directly replacing the structural collagen naturally found deeper within your skin.
That doesn't make it useless — it just means its role is primarily hydrating and skin-conditioning.
-
Is this better than retinol or retinal for wrinkles?
They aren't really interchangeable.
Retinoids have much stronger evidence for changing visible signs of photoageing over time and would usually be our more targeted choice for someone whose primary concern is established wrinkles.
A peptide serum like this is useful when you want additional support for firmness, hydration and smoother-looking skin, particularly if you want something gentle.
Many people can also use peptides and retinoids within the same overall routine.
-
Can I use it with retinal or retinol?
Generally, yes.
There is no need to automatically separate this peptide formula from a retinoid.
One simple routine could be:
Morning: Peptide serum → moisturiser → SPF
Evening: Retinoid → moisturiser
Or, if your skin tolerates layering well, the peptide serum can also be used in the same evening routine.
-
Can sensitive skin use it?
Potentially, yes.
This is not an exfoliating acid or retinoid, so it does not require the same gradual introduction schedule.
However, sensitive skin can react to any new formula, so introduce it normally and patch test if you are particularly reactive.
-
Can oily skin use it?
Yes.
The watery texture is one of the strengths of this product. It gives you a peptide and hydration step without the heaviness sometimes associated with anti-ageing creams.
-
Can dry skin use it?
Yes, but think of it as a treatment layer rather than your moisturiser.
Dry skin will usually benefit from following it with a cream containing the emollients and barrier-supporting lipids that this lightweight serum does not provide on its own.
-
How long does it take to see results?
Hydration and a slightly plumper surface appearance may be noticeable relatively quickly.
Firmness and fine lines should be judged over consistent use rather than after a few days.
PURCELL has carried out both laboratory/ex-vivo testing and a small human study on its Peptide 82% Formula™, but we would still treat this as a long-term skincare treatment rather than promise an overnight lifting effect.
Hexapeptide-11 Ferment Filtrate Extract: A bioactive ingredient derived from the fermentation of the yeast Saccharomyces and the signalling peptide Hexapeptide-11, this ferment filtrate improves skin elasticity, firmness, and hydration, as well as possessing antioxidant properties that help to protect skin from oxidative damage.
Hydrolysed Collagen: Hydrolysed Collagen hydrates, increases skin elasticity, and slows the skin-ageing process, as well as encouraging the synthesis of collagen in the skin itself.
Carnitine: An amino-acid-like antioxidant, Carnitine helps to regulate sebum production, reduce localised fat deposits, and promote skin cell turnover leading to improved skin firmness and smoothness. It also soothes irritated complexions.
