Abib Glutathiosome Dark Spot Toner Skin Booster is a brightening toner with niacinamide, glutathione and three forms of vitamin C, plus two exfoliating acids, LHA and lactic acid. It helps fade the look of dark spots and dullness for a more even tone, while hyaluronic acid and ceramide NP keep skin hydrated and glowing.
What it does
Niacinamide helps even the look of tone and supports the barrier. Glutathione and vitamin C add brightness. Glutathiosome is Abib's name for its glutathione, which appears on the ingredient list simply as glutathione, and Abib do not state how much it contains. Niacinamide is the first active on the list, so we see this as a niacinamide brightening toner first, with glutathione in a supporting role. Capryloyl salicylic acid (LHA), a salicylic acid derivative, and lactic acid, an AHA, exfoliate for smoother-looking texture; Abib say it helps remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. Hyaluronic acid, ceramide NP and cholesterol help hold moisture in.
Why we chose it
It combines brightening, light exfoliation and barrier care in one step, and Abib describe it as fragrance-free. Brightening needs daily sun protection, so pair it with Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics in the morning.
Best for
- The look of dark spots and uneven tone
- Dull skin that wants a brighter, glass-skin glow
- Marks left behind after breakouts
- Light exfoliation that still hydrates
Not ideal if
- You use another acid toner: it contains LHA and a little lactic acid, so do not layer it with Beauty of Joseon Green Plum Refreshing Toner
- Your skin is sensitive or irritated: with two exfoliating acids and three forms of vitamin C, this is not a first choice; Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner is the calmer option
- You are new to vitamin C: introduce it on its own first
Key ingredients
- Niacinamide: a more even-looking tone and barrier support
- Glutathione (Abib's Glutathiosome, amount not stated): supporting brightness
- 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, ascorbic acid and ascorbyl glucoside (vitamin C): radiance
- Capryloyl salicylic acid (LHA) and lactic acid: exfoliation for smoother-looking texture
- Hyaluronic acid and ceramide NP: hydration
Texture and finish
A lightweight, ampoule-like toner that leaves skin hydrated rather than tight.
Where it goes in your routine
After cleansing, before serum. Spread a small amount over the face with your hands, as the box directs. Start once a day, then build up to morning and evening. Always finish with sunscreen in the morning.
What to expect
Skin feels hydrated and smoother straight away. A brighter, more even-looking tone builds gradually with daily use and sunscreen.

Good to know
- Contains capryloyl salicylic acid (LHA) and a little lactic acid
- Contains three forms of vitamin C
- Abib describe it as fragrance-free
- Contains chitosan; its source is not stated
- Box warning: for external use only; keep out of eyes; discontinue use if irritation or rash occurs
Is it an exfoliating toner?
Partly. It contains two exfoliating acids, LHA and lactic acid, and Abib say it helps remove dead skin cells. Abib do not state the amounts. We stock it as a daily brightening toner with some exfoliation, not as a peel. If you already use an acid toner or pads, choose one or the other.
How much glutathione does it contain?
Abib do not say. Glutathiosome is Abib's name for its glutathione, which appears on the ingredient list simply as glutathione. We treat it as a supporting brightening ingredient alongside niacinamide and vitamin C, not the main reason to buy it.
Can sensitive skin use it?
It is not one we would recommend first for sensitive skin, because it combines LHA, lactic acid and three forms of vitamin C. If your skin is only occasionally reactive, patch test, start once a day and keep the rest of your routine simple while you introduce it.
Can I use it with retinal or a vitamin C serum?
With retinal, use them at different times of day: this toner in the morning, retinal at night. It already contains three forms of vitamin C, so a separate vitamin C serum is optional rather than needed.
Does it suit oily skin?
It can. It is a light toner, and Abib say it helps remove excess sebum. It is a brightening toner for the look of dark spots, though, not a treatment for breakouts.
