Can I reapply it over makeup?

Yes, that is one of the main reasons to choose a stick. Beauty of Joseon do note that because a stick needs some pressure, it can lift a little makeup. Use light rolling strokes and press rather than drag. A few reviews mention it can pill or leave small white specks when layered over other products, so test it over your usual base before relying on it on a day out.

Does it leave a white cast?

It uses chemical filters only, with no zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, and most of the reviews we checked report no obvious white cast. A few mention small white specks, usually when it is layered over other products or makeup. We have not seen enough reliable feedback across deeper skin tones to promise that it looks invisible on everyone.

How much do I need to apply to get the SPF on the label?

We can't give you a number of swipes: a stick has no measured dose, and SPF ratings are tested using a generous, fixed amount of product. The NHS says most people do not apply enough sunscreen, so go over each area several times. If you want to be confident about the amount for your main morning layer, a liquid such as Relief Sun is easier to measure, and the stick is ideal for top-ups.

Will the matte finish feel too dry on dry skin?

It depends on how dry your skin is. Silica and boron nitride are there to soften shine, so on dry skin the finish may feel tight. If your skin is dry, apply it over your usual moisturiser, or choose Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics, which is creamier.
