100% authentic K‑beauty- Hand-picked by our founder
Dr.Melaxin Eyephalt Eyebag Cream is a small under-eye cream that pairs a smoothing mineral base (magnesium aluminium silicate) with niacinamide, arbutin, glutathione, adenosine, five ceramides and an EGF-type peptide. It helps the under-eye area look smoother and brighter, with a visible smoothing effect once it sets.
What it does
Magnesium aluminium silicate and sodium silicate set into a light film that smooths the look of puffiness and texture while it is on. Niacinamide, arbutin, glutathione and a tranexamic acid peptide target the look of dark circles, and adenosine and rh-oligopeptide-1 (an EGF-type peptide) the look of fine lines.
Why we chose it
We chose it mainly for its smoothing film, which makes puffy-looking bags and texture look smoother while it is on; the niacinamide, arbutin and adenosine for the look of dark circles and fine lines are a slower, supporting part of the formula.
Best for
- The look of under-eye bags and puffiness
- Dark circles and a tired look
- Fine lines around the eyes
- A smoother under-eye before makeup
Not ideal if
- You avoid animal-derived ingredients: hydrolysed sponge comes from a sponge, which is an animal
- Your eye area is sensitive, or you have found spicule products prickly before: it contains hydrolysed sponge spicules, so patch test first
- You want a rich, moisturising eye cream for very dry skin: Knours One Perfect Firming + Plumping Eye Cream is more cushioning
Key ingredients
- Magnesium aluminium silicate and sodium silicate: a smoothing film
- Niacinamide, arbutin, glutathione and tranexamoyl dipeptide-23: the look of dark circles
- Adenosine and rh-oligopeptide-1: the look of fine lines and elasticity
- Five ceramides and sodium hyaluronate: moisture
- Hydrolysed sponge: spicules Dr.Melaxin include to help absorption
Texture and finish
A lightweight cream. Use only a thin layer: it sets best that way.
Where it goes in your routine
Morning and evening, after your moisturiser. Pat a rice-grain amount under each eye, from the inner to the outer corner, without rubbing. Let it set for 2 to 3 minutes before sunscreen or makeup.
What to expect
The smoothing effect shows once the cream sets and lasts while it is on the skin. Any change in dark circles or fine lines is gradual and depends on steady daily use.

Good to know
- Contains hydrolysed sponge (animal-derived)
- No fragrance or essential oils in the listed ingredients
- Contains baobab seed oil
- No retinoid and no exfoliating acids
Will it get rid of my eye bags?
Not permanently. The mineral base sets into a light film that makes puffy-looking bags and texture look smoother while it is on the skin. Bags caused by fat pads or the structure under the eye stay; no eye cream removes them.
Will it help dark circles?
It depends on the cause. Niacinamide, arbutin and glutathione are there for the look of discolouration, so brownish darkness may soften gradually with steady use. Shadows from hollows or visible blood vessels are structural, and a cream will not change them.
Can I wear it under makeup?
Yes, that is one of its uses. Apply a thin layer and let it set for 2 to 3 minutes before sunscreen or concealer. A thick layer sets less well.
Is it suitable for sensitive eyes?
It is not our default choice. There is no fragrance listed and no retinoid, but it contains hydrolysed sponge spicules, which some people feel as a prickle. If your eye area is reactive, patch test first, or choose Knours One Perfect Firming + Plumping Eye Cream.
Does it contain retinol or exfoliating acids?
No. There is no retinoid and no exfoliating acid in the listed ingredients, so it is an option if you keep retinoids away from your eye area.
Is it vegan?
No. Hydrolysed sponge comes from a sponge, which is an animal.
