100% authentic K‑beauty- Hand-picked by our founder
Purito Oat PDRN Gentle Refining Toner is a milky toner made with 80% oat seed water, panthenol, beta-glucan and a very small amount of oat-derived PDRN (sodium DNA at 5 ppm, which is 0.0005%). It hydrates and softens skin after cleansing, helps it feel calm, and leaves a smooth, dewy base for serums.
What it does
Oat seed water gives the formula its hydration and comfort, while panthenol and beta-glucan help skin hold on to moisture. Meadowfoam seed oil adds softness and gives the toner its milky look. Dipotassium glycyrrhizate, from liquorice root, helps skin feel calm. Purito say their PDRN comes from oat rather than salmon.
Why we chose it
We chose it as a gentle hydrating toner, not a PDRN treatment or an exfoliating toner: the formula is short (19 ingredients on our box) and lists no exfoliating acids. It sits well before Purito Oat In Calming Gel Cream in a simple oat routine.
Best for
- Dehydrated or tight-feeling skin after cleansing
- Sensitive skin that wants a gentle, milky toner
- Rough-feeling skin that wants a smoother, softer look
- Anyone avoiding salmon-derived PDRN
- A hydrating first layer in a glass-skin routine
Not ideal if
- You want an exfoliating toner: Purito describe it as gently refining, but it lists no AHA, BHA, PHA or enzyme
- You want a high dose of PDRN: sodium DNA is listed at 5 ppm (0.0005%)
- You prefer a water-light toner: this one is milky
Key ingredients
- Oat seed water (80%): hydration and comfort
- Sodium DNA, oat PDRN (5 ppm, which is 0.0005%): a small plant-based extra, not the main reason to choose it
- Panthenol: hydration and barrier support
- Beta-glucan (40 ppm, which is 0.004%): moisture
- Meadowfoam seed oil: softness
Texture and finish
Milky but non-sticky. It absorbs quickly and leaves skin soft and lightly dewy.
Where it goes in your routine
Straight after cleansing, before serum, morning and evening. Pour a moderate amount into your palm or onto a cotton pad, sweep it over the skin and pat in. For extra hydration, Purito suggest soaking cotton pads and leaving them on dry or sensitive areas for 5 to 10 minutes.
What to expect
Skin feels hydrated and softer straight away. A smoother, softer look builds gradually with steady daily use.
Quick facts: 200 ml · 80% oat seed water · Plant-based PDRN · No exfoliating acids · AM and PM · Purito, made in Korea
- Use straight after cleansing, morning and evening.
- Pour a moderate amount into your palm or onto a cotton pad, sweep it over the skin and pat in lightly, as Purito direct.
- For extra hydration, soak cotton pads and leave them on dry or sensitive areas for 5 to 10 minutes, as Purito suggest.
- Follow with serum and moisturiser, and sunscreen in the morning.
- Our suggestion: because it lists no exfoliating acids, it works as a plain hydrating layer on evenings you use a retinoid or an exfoliant.
- Patch test first if your skin is sensitive.
Avena Sativa (Oat) Seed Water (80%), Aqua/Water, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Polyglyceryl-3 Methylglucose Distearate, Polyglyceryl-10 Oleate, Glycerin, Panthenol, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Avena Sativa (Oat) Extract (130 ppm), Beta-Glucan (40 ppm), Sodium Phytate, Sodium DNA (5 ppm), Ethylhexylglycerin, Arginine, Citric Acid
Good to know
- PDRN (sodium DNA) is oat-derived, according to Purito
- No AHA, BHA, PHA or enzyme exfoliants listed
- No retinoid; Purito state no synthetic fragrance
- Purito describe it as vegan and cruelty-free
- Purito describe it as gently exfoliating, but no exfoliating acid or enzyme is listed
How much PDRN is in it?
Very little. Our box lists sodium DNA at 5 ppm, which is 0.0005%. Purito describe it as "99% pure oat PDRN"; we read that as describing the ingredient itself, not how much is in the bottle. We chose this toner for hydration and comfort, not as a PDRN treatment.
Does it exfoliate?
Not in the way an acid toner does. Purito describe it as gently refining, and our box calls it a clarifying facial toner, but it lists no AHA, BHA, PHA or enzyme. Citric acid appears at the very end of the list; we don't treat it as an exfoliating step. If you want exfoliation, this is not the toner we would choose.
Can sensitive skin use it?
It depends on your skin, but it is one of the simpler toners we stock: no exfoliating acids, no retinoid, and Purito state no synthetic fragrance. As with any new step, patch test first.
Is the PDRN from salmon?
No. Purito say their PDRN comes from oat, so it suits anyone avoiding salmon-derived PDRN. Purito also describe the toner as vegan and cruelty-free.
Can oily or acne-prone skin use it?
It depends on your skin. Purito say they made it with acne-prone skin in mind and describe it as non-comedogenic, and the milky texture absorbs quickly. It has no blemish-targeting ingredient, though, so think of it as a hydrating step for oily skin rather than a spot or pore treatment.
