• Mornings, as the last step of your skincare, as the box directs, or through the day over makeup.
• Press the puff into the cushion and tap it all over the face, as the box directs. Over makeup, tap rather than swipe so you don't move your base.
• Cover your neck and ears too if they will be in the sun.
• Apply before you go out and reapply frequently, as the box directs, and always after sweating, swimming or towelling. NHS advice is every two hours in the sun.
• Use a full-size sunscreen as your main morning layer: the box gives no amount for the puff, and it is easy to apply less than you think.
• If you get red spots, swelling or itching after sun exposure, stop and get advice, as the box cautions.

Can I use it as my only sunscreen?

We would not. The box says to apply "an appropriate amount" with the puff and gives no figure, and SPF numbers are measured with a generous, even layer that is hard to judge from a cushion. Use a full-size sunscreen in the morning and this to top up during the day.

Will it disturb my makeup?

It is made for top-ups, and tapping with the puff, as the box directs, moves makeup far less than rubbing. How it sits over your base still depends on what is underneath, so try it on a normal day first.

Is it a mineral sunscreen, and will it leave a white cast?

Yes. On our UK box the filters are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, including nano forms. Mineral filters can leave a slight cast, especially on deeper skin tones, and we have not seen enough reliable feedback to promise it looks invisible on everyone.

Does it contain fragrance or essential oils?

The ingredient list on our UK box has neither. Round Lab sell a different formula of this cushion in other regions, so if you bought one elsewhere, check its own box.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It can be. It uses mineral filters only, with no fragrance, essential oils or exfoliating acids on our box. The box advises against using it on open wounds and to get advice if your skin reacts after sun exposure, so patch test first if you react easily.

Is it water-resistant?

It is not labelled water-resistant. Reapply after swimming, sweating or towelling, as the box directs.
