It dissolves makeup, sunscreen and excess oil, then turns milky with water and rinses away, leaving skin clean and refreshed rather than stripped. Evening, first cleanse. With dry hands, massage a few pumps over a dry face to dissolve makeup and sunscreen. Add a little water and keep massaging until milky, rinse with lukewarm water, then follow with a foam or gel cleanser.

  • With dry hands, massage a few pumps over a dry face to dissolve makeup and sunscreen, as the box directs.

  • Keep it out of the eyes themselves, and stop if irritation occurs, as the box advises.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It depends on your skin. Our box says a skin irritation test was completed, but it contains bergamot, geranium and rose flower oils plus limonene and linalool, so we don't list it as a default choice for sensitive skin. If you avoid essential oils, Purito From Green Cleansing Oil has none, though it contains sweet almond oil.

Can oily skin use it?

Yes, in most cases. An oil cleanser loosens sebum as well as makeup and sunscreen, SKIN1004 describe it as non-comedogenic, and it rinses off without an oily residue. Follow it with a water-based cleanser.

Can I use it to remove eye makeup?

Our box says to avoid contact with the eyes, so keep it out of the eyes themselves and rinse well with lukewarm water if it gets in. For heavy waterproof eye makeup, a dedicated eye makeup remover may be easier.

Do I need a second cleanser after it?

Yes, we recommend it. The oil dissolves makeup and sunscreen; a water-based cleanser afterwards removes what is left, for example SKIN1004 Ampoule Foam from the same line.

Will it help with blemishes or redness?

No. It is a makeup and sunscreen remover first. Removing sunscreen properly at night is a good habit, but this oil is not a blemish or redness treatment.
