• Cleanse and pat skin dry, then apply toner and a light serum. Skip heavy creams or oils underneath, as Biodance advise.
• Peel off the film and place the two halves: the upper half over the forehead and eye area, the lower half over the chin and jaw.
• Overnight: make it your last evening step and remove it in the morning (Biodance say up to 8 hours). Daytime: leave it on for 3 to 4 hours, until it turns transparent.
• Remove it, pat any leftover essence into the skin, and after an overnight wear follow with sunscreen in the morning, as Biodance direct.
• We suggest once or twice a week, ideally on a night off from retinoids or exfoliating acids.
• Patch test first if your skin is sensitive or reacts to plant extracts.

Is this a collagen mask?

No. It does list collagen extract, but Biodance build this one around five ceramides, cholesterol, phytosphingosine, panthenol and hyaluronic acid, for hydration and comfort. We would not choose it for firming.

Can sensitive skin use it?

Often, yes. Biodance position it for sensitive, redness-prone, dry skin, and there is no fragrance, retinoid or exfoliating acid listed. The cool feel comes from plant extracts rather than menthol, and it also contains rose flower water, so patch test first if your skin reacts easily.

Can I sleep in it?

Yes, it is designed as an overnight mask, and Biodance say it can be worn for up to 8 hours. If you prefer daytime use, wear it for 3 to 4 hours, until the sheet turns transparent.

Will it suit oily skin?

It can, as an occasional mask, particularly if your skin is oily but dehydrated. It contains shea butter and other emollients, so if rich textures feel heavy on you, the 3 to 4 hour daytime option may suit you better than sleeping in it.

Does it contain nuts or animal-derived ingredients?

It contains shea butter, which is nut-derived. It also contains collagen extract, and Biodance do not state its origin, so we cannot call it free of animal-derived ingredients. If you avoid them, the Abib Collagen Gel Mask Sedum Jelly is V-Label approved according to Abib, though it is a 20 to 30 minute mask rather than an overnight one.
