Ma:nyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule is a light serum built around Ma:nyo's Bifida Biome ferment complex, with niacinamide, squalane, adenosine, two peptides and several forms of hyaluronic acid. What it doesBifida ferment lysate and four more ferment ingredients help skin feel more balanced and resilient. Ma:nyo call them five probiotics, but they are lysates and filtrates rather than live bacteria. Ma:nyo Bifida Biome Complex Ampoule is a light serum built around Ma:nyo's Bifida Biome ferment complex, with niacinamide, squalane, adenosine, two peptides and several forms of hyaluronic acid. It hydrates, supports the skin barrier and softens the look of dryness lines, for a plump, dewy glass-skin base.

What it does

Bifida ferment lysate and four more ferment ingredients help skin feel more balanced and resilient. Ma:nyo call them five probiotics, but they are lysates and filtrates rather than live bacteria. Hyaluronic acid in many forms and glycerin draw in water and squalane softens, while niacinamide, adenosine, copper tripeptide-1 and acetyl hexapeptide-8 support smoother, more even-looking skin.

Why we chose it

We chose it as a hydrating, barrier-support serum rather than a wrinkle treatment: it sits alongside stronger actives instead of competing with them. It pairs with Ma:nyo Bifida Biome Aqua Barrier Cream from the same line.

Best for

  • Dehydrated or tight-feeling skin
  • Skin that feels sensitised or stressed
  • Routines that include retinal or exfoliating acids
  • Fine lines that look more obvious when skin is dry
  • A dewy, glass-skin base under moisturiser

Not ideal if

  • You want a targeted dark-spot serum: try Anua Niacinamide 10 + TXA 4 Serum
  • You want a retinoid for lines: this has none
  • You need a vegan-confirmed serum: it contains hydrolysed glycosaminoglycans, whose source is not stated

Key ingredients

  • Bifida ferment lysate: barrier support and comfort
  • Bifida, lactobacillus, lactococcus and saccharomyces ferments: the rest of the five-ferment complex
  • Niacinamide: tone and barrier support
  • Several forms of hyaluronic acid and squalane: hydration and softness
  • Adenosine, copper tripeptide-1 and acetyl hexapeptide-8: supporting extras for the look of fine lines (no amounts stated)

Texture and finish

A light serum that spreads easily and taps in.

Where it goes in your routine

After toner, before moisturiser, morning and evening. Apply an ample amount evenly along the contours of the face and tap lightly with your fingers until absorbed, as Ma:nyo direct. Finish with sunscreen in the morning.

What to expect

Skin feels hydrated and softer straight away. A calmer, more resilient feel and smoother-looking dryness lines build gradually with steady daily use.

  • Apply an ample amount evenly along the contours of the face, as Ma:nyo direct.

Good to know

  • No fragrance or essential oils in the listed ingredients
  • No retinoid and no exfoliating acids
  • Contains hydrolysed glycosaminoglycans (source not stated)
  • The ferments are lysates and filtrates, not live bacteria

Does it contain live probiotics?

No. Ma:nyo describe the complex as five probiotics, but the ingredient list shows ferment lysates and filtrates (bifida, lactobacillus, lactococcus and saccharomyces), not live bacteria. There is nothing to keep alive and no need to refrigerate it.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Often, but it depends on your skin. Ma:nyo describe it as unscented, and the list has no fragrance, essential oils, retinoid or exfoliating acids. It is a hydrating, barrier-focused serum, which is why we list it for skin that feels sensitised. Patch test first if your skin reacts easily.

Can oily skin use it?

Yes, usually. It is a light serum, and oily skin can still feel dehydrated or stressed, especially alongside acne treatments or strong cleansers. It is not an acne treatment, but it is easy to fit into a lighter routine.

Can I use it with retinal, retinol or exfoliating acids?

Yes. There is no reason to keep it apart from them, and a hydrating layer often makes those routines more comfortable. If acids or retinoids are already making your skin red or flaky, cut back on them rather than layering more on top.

Does it help with wrinkles?

It can help skin look smoother and plumper through hydration, and it contains adenosine and two peptides, which Ma:nyo position for the look of wrinkles. We see it as supportive care rather than a wrinkle treatment. If lines are your main concern, a retinoid would usually play the more targeted role, with this serum alongside it.

Does it replace moisturiser?

Usually not. It hydrates and contains squalane, but a moisturiser does more to hold that hydration in. Dry or dehydrated skin especially should follow it with one.
