  • My skin loves it! I use azeliac acid then purito cetella and this cream on top to protect my barrier, defo worth it.

  • I keep returning to this fantastic cream. It's a bit expensive for only 80ml, but it truly saves my dry, sensitive, rosacea prone skin, especially when I'm using gentle actives as well. I tried switching to Illiyoon which is similar and also a good moisturizer (and way cheaper) but it just doesn't quite match up. This one restores my skin barrier, so it's worth the extra cost for me. I just wish they made larger tubes.

Aestura Atobarrier365 Cream is a rich barrier moisturiser for dry and sensitive skin, with visible ceramide capsules that melt as you apply them. It combines ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids with squalane, niacinamide and glycerin, so skin feels soft, comfortable and hydrated for longer.

What it does

Hydroxypropyl bispalmitamide MEA (a ceramide-like lipid), ceramide NP, phytosphingosine and cholesterol work with stearic, palmitic and oleic acids, a mix modelled on the skin's own barrier lipids, to help reduce moisture loss. Glycerin and betaine draw in water, and squalane softens.

Why we chose it

For skin that feels tight, dry or overworked, a simple barrier cream is often the most useful step. There is no fragrance in the listed ingredients, and it is a comforting partner on nights you use retinal or acids.

Best for

  • Very dry or tight skin
  • Sensitive or easily irritated skin
  • Barrier support alongside retinal or acids
  • Rough, flaky-feeling patches

Not ideal if

  • Your skin is oily and you prefer a light gel: try Purito Oat-in Calming Gel Cream
  • You avoid silicones: it contains dimethicone
  • You want a treatment for dark spots or lines: this is barrier support, not an active cream

Key ingredients

  • Ceramide capsules (hydroxypropyl bispalmitamide MEA and ceramide NP): barrier lipids
  • Cholesterol and fatty acids: complete the barrier lipid mix
  • Squalane: softness and comfort
  • Niacinamide: barrier support
  • Glycerin and betaine: hydration

Texture and finish

A rich cream with visible ceramide capsules that melt as you smooth it on, leaving a soft, smooth finish.

Where it goes in your routine

The last step of your skincare, after toner and serum, morning and evening. Smooth an even layer over face and neck and press it in, as Aestura direct: the ceramide capsules melt as you spread them. In the morning, follow with sunscreen.

What to expect

Skin feels more comfortable from the first use. Less tightness and flaking comes gradually with steady daily use.

Good to know

Aestura's own store lists it as made without artificial fragrance, mineral oil and artificial dyes. No fragrance or essential oils appear in the ingredients.

Quick facts: 80 ml · Ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids · No fragrance listed · AM and PM · Aestura, Korean brand

  • Morning and evening, as the last skincare step after toner and serum, as Aestura direct.
  • Smooth an even layer over face and neck and press it in. The capsules melt as you spread them, so there is no need to work them in separately.
  • On nights you use retinal or exfoliating acids, use it as the moisturiser that follows them. It adds no retinoid or acid of its own.
  • If your skin is combination, use it where skin feels dry or tight and go lighter on an oily T-zone.
  • In the morning, let it settle, then apply sunscreen.

Good to know

  • No fragrance and no essential oils listed
  • Contains dimethicone (silicone)
  • No retinoid and no exfoliating acids

Is it too rich for oily or combination skin?

It depends on your skin. It is a rich cream that Aestura make for dry and sensitive skin. Combination skin often gets on well with it on drier areas, or at night when actives leave skin tight; our Korean box also lists a completed suitability test for acne-prone skin, though that is not a promise for every skin. If your skin is oily and you prefer a light gel, Purito Oat-in Calming Gel Cream will feel lighter.

Can I use it with retinal or exfoliating acids?

Yes. That is one of the main reasons we stock it: it is a plain barrier cream with no retinoid and no exfoliating acids, so it works as the comforting layer on nights you use them.

Does it contain fragrance?

No fragrance and no essential oils are listed. Aestura's own store describes it as made without artificial fragrance.

What are the little beads in the cream?

They are Aestura's ceramide capsules, which Aestura describe as a mix of ceramide, fatty acid and cholesterol. They melt as you smooth the cream on, so you will not feel them on your skin afterwards.

Does it contain silicones?

Yes. It contains dimethicone and dimethiconol, which help give it a smooth, soft finish. If you avoid silicones, this one is not for you.
