  • Regular price £21.99
Purito TXA 6% + Niacinamide 10% + Retinal Serum combines 6% tranexamic acid, 10% niacinamide and a low 25 ppm dose of retinal to fade the look of dark spots and even out skin tone. A small amount of retinal (25 ppm) sits alongside them as a very low dose introduction. What it doesTranexamic acid targets the look of discolouration; Purito say it interrupts melanin formation. Niacinamide helps even tone and supports the barrier. This is primarily a dark spot and uneven tone serum. The 6% tranexamic acid and 10% niacinamide are the main actives, while the 25 ppm retinal is a small supporting addition rather than a dedicated retinal treatment. What customers say

  • I’ve been using this serum for a few weeks now and I like it. It feels lightweight, doesn’t irritate my skin, and my skin is already looking brighter and smoother. Great for dark spots and uneven skin tone, I will be relugious with it.

    Arwa

  • it's good but my dark spots are quite stubborn, definitely a long term use product, I also use it on my chest. make sure you use spf with it

    Tracy

  • I’ve been using this product for aobut 6 weeks and can definitely see less pigmentation and I htink my fine lines sofened as well. Very happy with this product overall.

    mimi

  • I have become a big fan of Purito over the past couple of years, so I was very interested to try this serum. I do have a problem with uneven skin tone which is why I bought this product.

I was a little stunned as it looks like there has been gold glitter tipped into the serum but now I understand that it is encapsulated retinal.

The bottle makes it very easy to apply a few drops to the face and I find it best to do that directly as it is runny and more like a water in consistency and not very thick. The serum is very quickly absorbed and provides a good base before applying moisturiser and make-up.

I have started slowly with this and will only apply a few times a week which seems to be working well for me and always wear SPF to protect the new skin. The bottle is a good size and will last me months so I think the price is justified.

    Gabi

  • I’ve been using it for a good few weeks now and it works well on for dark spots and uneven skin tone and my skin overall looks much fresher. A little goes a long way, the bottler will last you months.

    Rahila

  • The texture is really nice, I only got it a few days ago and am follwing the instructions from the emial so very excited to see results as I have a lot of dark spots from acne.

What it does

Tranexamic acid targets the look of discolouration; Purito say it interrupts melanin formation. Niacinamide helps even tone and supports the barrier. This is primarily a dark spot and uneven tone serum. The 6% tranexamic acid and 10% niacinamide are the main actives, while the 25 ppm retinal is a small supporting addition rather than a dedicated retinal treatment.

Why we chose it

Working on dark marks can easily turn into two serums: one for tranexamic acid and one for niacinamide. This puts both into one step, at 6% and 10%. We read the carton ourselves: retinal 25 ppm is printed on the box, and no fragrance or essential oils are listed.

Best for

  • Dark spots and uneven skin tone
  • Marks left behind after breakouts
  • Dull skin that wants a brighter, glass-skin glow
  • Keeping a routine short: tone care in one step
  • A low dose first step into retinal

Not ideal if

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding: it contains retinal, so ask your doctor or pharmacist, or choose Anua Niacinamide 10 + TXA 4 Serum, which has no retinoid
  • You already use another retinoid: do not layer two
  • You want a dedicated anti-ageing serum: the retinal dose is low and the focus is tone

Key ingredients

  • Tranexamic acid 6%: the look of dark spots and discolouration
  • Niacinamide 10%: evens tone and supports the barrier
  • Retinal (25 ppm): a very low amount of vitamin A
  • Ceramide NP, centella and allantoin: comfort and barrier support
  • Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin): gives the serum its pink colour

Texture and finish

A light serum in two layers. Shake it 2 to 3 times until they mix; it then spreads easily under moisturiser. Purito say the pink colour comes from vitamin B12 and can fade in light without affecting the formula.

Where it goes in your routine

After cleansing and toner, before moisturiser. The label says at most once a day, morning or evening. Start a few times a week, build up slowly, and wear sunscreen every morning, such as Purito Wonder Releaf Centella Daily Sun Lotion.

What to expect

Some people notice mild dryness while their skin gets used to retinal; if so, use it less often. Dark spots, tone and texture change gradually and depend on daily sunscreen and steady use.

  • Shake the bottle 2 to 3 times, or until the two layers have fully mixed.
  • After cleansing and toner, use one full dropper and pat it over the face until absorbed.
  • Once a day only, morning or evening. If you are new to vitamin A, evenings are the simplest place to start: begin a few evenings a week and build up to daily if your skin stays comfortable.
  • Follow with moisturiser, and wear sunscreen every morning while you use it.
  • Keep exfoliating acids on different evenings, and don't use another retinoid in the same routine.
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding: Purito say not to use it without consulting a doctor.

Good to know

  • Contains retinal (vitamin A): introduce slowly and wear SPF daily
  • Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice
  • No fragrance or essential oils listed
  • Purito describe it as vegan and cruelty-free

Is this a strong retinal serum?

No. The retinal is present at 25 ppm, which is much lower than concentrations typically used in published retinal studies. We see this as a dark spot and tone serum first, with a small amount of retinal alongside it. If you specifically want a dedicated retinal treatment, this is not the one we would choose.

Can I use it in the morning?

Yes. The carton says once a day, morning or evening. If you use it in the morning, finish with sunscreen. If you are new to vitamin A, evening is the simpler choice.

Can I use it with vitamin C?

Yes. The old advice against combining niacinamide and vitamin C came from early studies with unstable ingredients. If your skin is sensitive, use vitamin C in the morning and this in the evening, so each goes on alone.

Can I use it with retinol, tretinoin or an exfoliating acid?

Not with another retinoid: this already contains retinal, so choose one. If you use a prescription retinoid, check with your prescriber before adding anything. Keep exfoliating acids to different evenings.

Why are there two layers, and why is it pink?

It is made that way. Shake it 2 to 3 times before each use until the layers mix. Purito say the pink colour comes from vitamin B12 and may fade in light without affecting quality.

Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Purito say not without consulting a doctor, and the NHS advises against topical retinoids in pregnancy. For a tone-focused serum without a retinoid, look at Anua Niacinamide 10 + TXA 4 Serum, and check anything you use in pregnancy with your doctor or pharmacist.
