Anua

Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam (150ml)

A pore-focused Korean cleansing foam for oily, combination and congestion-prone skin that wants a thorough cleanse without the usual stripped, squeaky-clean feeling. ANUA Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam combines Heartleaf and ANUA's Quercetinol complex with exfoliating salicylate ingredients to help remove excess sebum, everyday build-up and dead skin that can make pores and skin texture look more noticeable. The dense, creamy foam makes this particularly useful around oilier areas such as the nose, chin and forehead, where blackheads, sebaceous filaments and congestion tend to build up. What makes it more interesting than a standard “deep cleansing” face wash is the balancing act. Heartleaf and Quercetinol are included to support calmer-feeling skin while the cleanser tackles excess oil and surface build-up, so the goal isn't simply to strip oily skin until it feels tight. And that distinction matters: oily skin does not need to feel dry after cleansing for a cleanser to have worked. Especially suited to • Oily and combination skin • Congestion and enlarged-looking pores • Blackheads and sebaceous filaments • Blemish-prone skin • Skin that becomes oily around the nose, chin or forehead • Anyone wanting a more thorough second cleanse after makeup or SPF Why you'll love it • Pore-focused foaming cleanser with Heartleaf and Quercetinol • Helps remove excess sebum and build-up that can contribute to congestion • Includes gentle exfoliating salicylate ingredients for smoother-looking texture • Rich foam cleans thoroughly without needing aggressive scrubbing • Particularly useful for oily T-zones and blackhead-prone areas Texture A creamy cleansing foam that creates a dense, rich lather when mixed with water. You may notice tiny Heartleaf particles within the formula. There is no need to scrub them into your skin — massage gently and let the cleanser do the work. Good to know “Pore cleansing” does not mean pores can be opened, closed or permanently shrunk. What this cleanser can do is help remove excess oil, dead skin and daily build-up from the skin and around the pore opening. When there is less congestion sitting in and around the pores, they can look cleaner and less noticeable. It is also worth remembering that this is a rinse-off product. If persistent blackheads or congestion are your main concern, a pore-focused cleanser can be a useful part of the routine, but you may get more benefit from pairing it with an appropriate leave-on treatment rather than expecting your cleanser to do the whole job.

Texture

A creamy cleansing foam that creates a dense, rich lather when mixed with water.

You may notice tiny Heartleaf particles within the formula. There is no need to scrub them into your skin — massage gently and let the cleanser do the work.

Good to know

“Pore cleansing” does not mean pores can be opened, closed or permanently shrunk.

Wet your face with lukewarm water.

Dispense a small amount into damp hands, add water and work it into a rich foam before applying it to your face.

Massage gently over the skin for around 30–60 seconds, paying particular attention to oilier areas such as the nose, chin and forehead.

Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and continue with the rest of your routine.

In the evening, use it after an oil cleanser if you have been wearing makeup, heavier SPF or other products that need a first cleanse.

Tips to get the most out of it

• You don't automatically need an oil cleanser before it every time. Double cleansing is most useful when you need to remove makeup, water-resistant SPF or heavier product build-up

• Concentrate on your T-zone if that is where you become congested rather than repeatedly scrubbing your entire face

• More cleansing is not better cleansing. If your skin feels tight immediately afterwards, reduce how often you use it or switch to a gentler cleanser for some of your washes

• If you already use retinoids, exfoliating acids or acne treatments, pay attention to your overall routine. Several individually good products can still become too much when used together

• For combination skin, it can work well as your evening cleanser while you use something gentler — or simply rinse with water if appropriate for your skin — in the morning

• Do not scrub harder because you can see or feel the Heartleaf particles. Gentle massage is enough

A note on blackheads and sebaceous filaments

Not every dark dot on your nose is a blackhead.

Sebaceous filaments are a normal part of your pores and help move sebum to the surface of the skin. They can become more visible when pores contain more oil, but they will naturally refill — so trying to permanently “remove” every one usually leads to over-cleansing and irritation.

A better goal is keeping excess oil and build-up under control while protecting your skin barrier.

Is this cleanser good for oily skin?

Yes. Oily and combination skin are where this cleanser makes the most sense.

It is designed to remove excess sebum and build-up while providing a thorough foaming cleanse, making it particularly useful if your T-zone becomes oily or congested throughout the day.

Your skin should still feel comfortable afterwards. If it regularly feels tight or squeaky, use it less frequently rather than assuming that tightness means your skin is cleaner.

-
Will it remove blackheads?

It can help reduce the oil, dead skin and build-up involved in congestion, so it can be useful in a blackhead-focused routine.

However, persistent blackheads generally aren't something we would expect a rinse-off cleanser to solve by itself.

If blackheads are your main concern, think of this as your cleansing step rather than your entire blackhead treatment.

-
Is it good for acne-prone skin?

It can be a useful cleanser for oily, blemish-prone skin because it focuses on excess sebum, congestion and gentle exfoliation.

It isn't an acne treatment on its own, though. If you have persistent acne, the cleanser should support rather than replace the treatment portion of your routine.

-
Can dry skin use it?

It isn't the first cleanser we would choose specifically for dry skin.

Someone with dry skin could still use it occasionally — particularly around a congested T-zone — but if dryness, tightness or barrier comfort is your main concern, we would normally choose a gentler, more hydration-focused cleanser instead.

-
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

We would be more cautious here.

Although Heartleaf is included as a soothing component, this is still an exfoliating, pore-focused cleansing formula. Very reactive or sensitised skin may be happier with a simpler cleanser.

If you're sensitive but oily or congested, introduce it gradually rather than immediately using it morning and night.

-
Can I use it every day?

If your skin tolerates it comfortably, yes.

But daily use doesn't have to mean twice a day. For many combination or congestion-prone routines, using it once in the evening is enough.

If you begin noticing tightness, flaking or increased sensitivity, reduce the frequency.

-
Can I use it with retinol or retinal?

Potentially, yes, but pay attention to the total amount of exfoliation and irritation in your routine.

If you are introducing a retinoid, your skin is peeling or your barrier already feels sensitive, using a very simple cleanser on retinal nights may be the better choice.

You don't need every step of an acne or anti-ageing routine to contain an active ingredient.

-
Should I use the ANUA cleansing oil before this?

If you're wearing makeup, water-resistant SPF or have a lot of product to remove, the ANUA Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil followed by this foam makes a logical double cleanse.

If you don't have much to remove, you don't need to double cleanse just because it is a Korean skincare routine.

The best cleansing routine is the one that gets your skin clean without leaving it stripped.
