If your skin feels tight after cleansing, this is a lovely place to start. It suits normal, dry and combination skin, and because it's light with no oils, it also works for oily skin that wants hydration without heaviness. Just know it contains lavender oil and alcohol, so if your skin is reactive, go for the version for sensitive skin instead.

What's the difference between this toner and the Haruharu Black Rice Toner for Sensitive Skin?

Same hydrating ingredients, in the same amounts: rice extract, bamboo shoot extract and hyaluronic acid. The only difference is that this one also contains alcohol and lavender oil, which give it a light lavender scent. The sensitive skin version leaves both out. Like a light scent? Pick this one. Skin reacts easily? Pick the sensitive one.

Is the Haruharu Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner OK for sensitive skin?

We'd point sensitive skin to the version for sensitive skin instead. This one contains alcohol, lavender oil and linalool, which reactive skin doesn't always like. The sensitive version gives you the same hydration without them.

How do I use the Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner?

Straight after cleansing, morning and night. Haruharu suggest sweeping it on with a cotton pad, or you can pour a little into your hands and press it in. On dry days, add a second layer once the first has sunk in. Then follow with your serum and moisturiser, plus SPF in the morning.

Yes. It has no actives of its own, so it simply adds hydration before your treatment step, which makes it an easy partner for retinal and acids.
