  • Dispense a small amount onto dry hands and massage over a dry face and neck to loosen makeup, sunscreen and impurities.
  • Once the makeup has loosened, wet your hands well and keep massaging until it turns into a lather. Adding water too early cuts the oil stage short.
  • Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  • Use morning or evening. For heavy or long-wear makeup, use an oil cleanser first and this second.
  • Keep it away from the eyes, as the box cautions.
  • Patch test first if you are sensitive to essential oils or fragrance.

Can it replace my double cleanse?

For everyday makeup and sunscreen, yes: the oil stage loosens them and the foam stage washes everything away. For heavy, long-wear makeup or a water-resistant sunscreen, use a dedicated oil cleanser first and this as your second step.

Is it fragrance-free?

No added fragrance is listed, but it contains marjoram, lavender, Roman chamomile, geranium and orange peel oils, plus limonene and linalool. It has a natural scent from those oils, so we don't call it fragrance-free.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

We don't list it for sensitive skin because of the essential oils. If you already know your skin is comfortable with them, patch test first.

Is it vegan or cruelty-free?

Our box carries the PETA Cruelty-Free logo. It contains honey extract, which is animal-derived, so we don't describe it as vegan.

I have a nut allergy. Can I use it?

It contains apricot kernel oil, so if you have a nut allergy, check with your doctor or choose a different cleanser.

Can oily skin use it?

Yes, if you like a non-stripping wash. The oils turn into a foam with water and rinse away. If you prefer a very deep or squeaky clean finish, it may feel milder than you expect.
