Purito Oat-in Gentle Exfoliating Face Cleanser (150ml)

• Use as your morning wash, or as the second cleanse at night after an oil.
• Squeeze a little into your hands and rub until it lathers, as the box directs, then massage gently over a wet face.
• Light pressure is enough: the particles do the polishing, and scrubbing hard only adds irritation.
• Rinse with lukewarm water.
• As a mask, Purito suggest a thick layer left on for 10 minutes, then adding lukewarm water, massaging gently and rinsing.

What does the exfoliating?

Fine physical particles: oat kernel flour in two sizes and sweet almond seed meal. Our box calls it a facial scrub cleanser. There are no AHA, BHA or PHA exfoliants; the citric acid near the end of the list is not there as an exfoliant.

Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

It depends on your skin. Purito describe it as daily care for sensitive skin, but it is still a physical scrub and lists denatured alcohol. Avoid it on irritated, peeling or over-exfoliated skin, start a few times a week (our suggestion) and patch test first.

Can I use it if I have a nut allergy?

No. It contains sweet almond seed meal, and Purito advise caution if you are allergic to almond or oat powder.

Can I use it on the same night as a retinoid or exfoliating acid?

Our suggestion is to use a non-scrub cleanser on those evenings, especially while your skin is getting used to the active. Two kinds of exfoliation in one routine is more than most skin needs.

How do I use it as a mask?

Purito suggest applying a thick layer and leaving it for 10 minutes. Then add lukewarm water, massage gently and rinse. The kaolin clay helps absorb excess oil while it sits.
